A new addition to x-ist, the young photographer Fatih Alkan, whose works were shown at Contemporary Istanbul 2012 for the first time, opens his debut solo show "A Short Film About Penn” on April 4th, 2013.
Born in Zonguldak (Turkey), Fatih Alkan uses negative film and includes fantastic elements in his work that resemble fictional tales. Inspired by his childhood, Alkan’s takes analog photographs (which is almost extinct today) that automatically draw the viewer in and make them a part of the story. "A Short Film About Penn”can be seen until May 4that x-ist.

After graduating from Industrial Engineering Department, Fatih Alkan received his masters degree in 2008 from Maltepe University, Business Department. Alkan has been taking photographs since 2009. He currently works in industrial products design sector in Istanbul.
