The exceptional art fair project developed by the creators of SCOPE, focusing on Asian contemporary art, will take place between December 4-7, 2008. At ART ASIA Miami Fair, x-ist will exhibit the works of Ekin Saçlıoğlu and Burhan Kum.
In her works which will be exhibited at ART ASIA, Ekin Saçlıoğlu- one of the young stars of the emerging Contemporary Turkish art scene- used a very unique technique presenting her argument in a twofold manner. In his works possessing both an aggressive and reactionary content underscored with an ironic dark sense of humor, Burhan Kum looks for new ways to explore his medium.
About ART ASIA Miami 2008:
Following Asia's recent economic and cultural boom, the creators of SCOPE developed an exceptional art fair project which will focus on Asian contemporary art. With 50 exhibitors from 17 countries from China, Korea, Japan, South Asia, India and the Middle East, ART ASIA Fair will celebrate and honor the expanding presence of Asian art on the global art scene. This synergy will be housed in a 60,000 sq ft. pavilion in Wynwood Miami, a few blocks away from Art Miami, Pulse, SCOPE and Design Miami.
ART ASIA will be complemented by a critical program of talks, presentations and discussions by leading curators, artists, critics, collectors and other art specialists in Asian Contemporary Art. After it's first year in Miami, ART ASIA has plans to expand beyond Miami to Basel, Switzerland.
