Ryan Schude’s second solo exhibition at x-ist, entitled ‘Fact & Fiction’, meets the audience between November 23 – December 23.
Fascinating the audience with the constructed scenes in his photographs, Ryan Schude holds his second solo exhibition at x-ist with an impressive selection from his series entitled ‘Tableaux Vivants’, ‘Them & Theirs’ and ‘Portraits’, on which he has been working since 15 years.
‘Tableaux Vivants’ means living paintings and is also the title of the artist’s first exhibition held at x-ist. The series consists of scenes which the artist reconstructs maybe years after some striking moments have been imprinted in his memory or where he stylizes the space, the set and the characters for the stories he wants the create. Each presenting different stories, these scenes are shaped depending on the relationship between the characters and the space. In the series ‘Them & Theirs’, which the artist started in 2001, he presents to the audience narrative scenes where he determines the space and the setup together with the vehicles and their real owners. ‘Portraits’ consist of portraits in which the artist focuses on telling the story through the subject as a result of the characters coming to the fore in the series ‘Tableaux Vivants’ or of spontaneous coincidences.
The exhibition ‘Fact & Fiction’, constructed by the artist with a special selection from 3 series which continue to expand in different spaces and time periods and where reality and fiction are intertwined in a natural flow, can be seen until December 23 at x-ist.
