x-ist will be holding Nalan Yırtmaç's new exhibition titled "Please Move towards the Back II: Disastercity". Yırtmaç, who has focused on the radical urban transformation in the last four years, presents us with her new paintings and collages that she made using the photos she took in different towns of Anatolia and in Istanbul. Yırtmaç, who questions the concepts behind the ongoing construction and destruction activities such as the right to shelter, immigration, the right to hold a city status, mandatory evacuation, and unearned income, trails the dream of "finding a place to live" in ongoing construction and destruction activities which take place in riverbeds, forests, and cultivated fields as well as in cities.
