x-plore Vol. I

Founded in 2004 with powerful foresight focused on discovering young Turkish talents x-ist has made an unquestionable contribution to the domestic and international art scene today. x-ist still hasn’t lost its passion to discover. The seventh season will open with the group exhibit "x-plore Vol. I" where brand new works of x-ist artists will be presented.
In this first chapter of "x-plore", Ali Taptık, Alp Sime, Gözde Türkkan and Sinem Dişli take place with their photographs. Works of Seda Hepsev and Ali Elmacı, taking in hand portraiture in different ways, and those of Burhan Kum, Canan and Cem Dinlenmiş, who interpret public phenomena and concepts unconventionally, can be seen in this the first exhibition of the season at x-ist. Nuri Kuzucan’s look on the city, Sena’s contribution to the world of symbols, Nazım Ünal Yılmaz’s work on sexual identity and Nalan Yırtmaç’s "detail" from everyday life, are important elements of the exhibit.
"x-plore" brings together works of 15 different artists for viewers. The exhibit can be seen between September 16-October 9, 2010. "x-plore Vol. I" is a clear sign that x-ist will continue to thrill art-lovers with the following exhibits during the season and that the rise in Turkish art will not decelerate.
