"Beyond Citizenship:Feminism and the Transformation of Belonging"

Known for her works on biopolitical concepts, CANAN is participating in the conference titled "Beyond Citizenship: Feminism and the Transformation of Belonging" taking place in Birkbeck, University of London between June 30-July 2, 2010. The artist's video-legend Exemplary, which was exhibited in the 11th İstanbul Biennial in 2009, will be shown before the conference. In the conference, CANAN who describes herself as feminist-activist will participate as a speaker. And the conduit between the academic and activist interpretations of feminism will be analysed and the boundries of citizenship will be questioned.
