Artist Announcement I Hüseyin Arıcı

We are pleased to announce that young artist Hüseyin Arıcı joins x-ist!

Born in Ankara(1990), he graduated from the Painting Department at the Hacettepe University and subsequently started his master’s degree in the Sculpture Department at the Hacettepe University.

The artist, who has been personally preparing the ready-made objects to use in his installations since the first years of his education, has thus carried his relation to reality and illusion to his use of material. Making the objects that he portrays return to their essences beyond imitating them, the artist chose the way to include the audience in this deception by means of the intricate perceptual relation that he established.

“Although the subject matter changes in each work, I expressed the changing subjects through the same language – delusion, deception. While people mostly proceed in daily life with their own skills – such as lying, imitating emotions, bringing in new realities by distorting reality, deceiving others – which are effective in the short- or long-run, I somehow continue this game of humanity with my own skills.
