Artist Announcement I Aylin Zaptçıoğlu

x-ist is pleased to announce that young artist Aylin Zaptçıoğlu joined the gallery in the new season.

Born in 1985 in Hamburg, Germany, the artist currently lives and works in Istanbul. Following her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2007,Zaptçıoğlu continued and completed her studies in the Department of Painting at the Mimar Sinan Academy of Fine Arts in 2008.

Zaptçıoğlu’s characteristic figures driven by a meditation on the harmony of living beings and nature continue in her paintings as well as in the sculptures she has most recently worked on.

The artist has exhibited her work in Italy and Mexico in addition to Turkey where her first four solo shows were held at the Evin Art Gallery and her fifth entitled “Good Bad Hot Cold”at Öktem & Aykut. The artist who has most recently showed her work as a part of the exhibition entitled “Chimera” that opened at x-ist on April 11th 2018, will present her work during Contemporary Istanbul ’18, represented by x-ist for the first time.
